The short answer
- SunPower filed for bankruptcy on Aug 5, 2024. The new SunPower (formerly Complete Solaria) bought the brand but excluded systems installed before Sep 30, 2024 (SunPower).
- Leased or PPA systems (SunPower and Sunnova): servicing moved to SunStrong Management, (833) 514-1858.
- Owned systems (cash or loan): there's no installer to call. Equipment warranties still come from the makers (Enphase, Tesla, Qcells and others), and any licensed C-46 or C-10 contractor can service the system.

What you can do
- Find out who owns your contract now: the lender, or SunStrong for leases.
- Gather your documents: contract, interconnection approval, equipment list and serial numbers, warranties.
- Register equipment warranties directly with the makers.
- For repairs, hire any licensed C-46 or C-10; check the license first (how).
- Complaints about a contractor go to CSLB; others are listed by the CPUC (resources).
Protect yourself next time
Ask how a workmanship warranty is backed if the company closes, prefer equipment with strong manufacturer warranties, and keep every document.
